PLACENTA ENCAPSULATION

Trained through IPPA. I hold to strict standards of

food safety, am blood born pathogen trained and practice a stringent equipment sanitizing process.

All placenta processing is done in a separate, dedicated room in my home.

Placenta encapsulation is the process of

dehydrating and grinding the placenta into a

powder, which is then placed into capsules for easy consumption. Many people report benefits such as improved postpartum recovery, enhanced energy levels, increased milk supply and better mood stabilization in the postpartum period Placenta encapsulation is a holistic, natural way to replenish

the iron, vitamins and hormones that your body lost during labor and birth.

With patience...

“Michaela provided invaluable postpartum care, expertly caring for our little one so my partner and I could nap, rest, and recharge. Her knowledge and expertise were evident as she gave us invaluable tips about diapering, showed us how to bathe our baby, and walked us through feeding techniques with patience and understanding. What truly sets Michaela apart is her ability to multitask seamlessly. She effortlessly wore our baby while cooking us delicious, nutritious meals, ensuring we were well-fed and nourished during this demanding time. Coming home to a clean kitchen, a rested baby, and a warm, homemade meal made all the difference in the world and helped us feel human again after the haze of exhaustion and sleepless nights. Michaela's compassionate care and unwavering support were a lifeline for us during those early weeks. Just having the freedom to take a walk with our dog or sneak in a much-needed nap, knowing that our baby was in capable hands, brought us immeasurable relief and peace of mind.”

OUR CLIENTS SAY

Pregnant woman smiling outdoors
For BOTH of my births. Michaela was my doula for my first birth, which resulted in a C-section. Even though the provider would not let her back there (Covid baby) she was extremely supportive up until that point and after the birth as well.
She has supported me through multiple early losses as well as my incredible VBAC.  Wholesome, comforting, reassuring and hands on. Also so great at reading the room, pivoting plans and staying calm in uncertain situations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  WHAT IS A DOULA?

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to expecting families before, during, and after childbirth. Birth doulas do not provide medical care but offer continuous support to help families have a positive birthing experience. Postpartum doulas focus on the first 1-12 weeks after the baby is born by providing practical, educational and emotional support to new parents.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING A DOULA?

Multiple studies show that having a doula can lead to shorter labors, reduced likelihood of interventions like cesarean sections, increased satisfaction with the birth experience, and improved neonatal outcomes. You can find more information on the benefit of a doula here: Click Here

WHEN SHOULD I HIRE A DOULA?

It's ideal to hire a doula as early as possible in your pregnancy to benefit from their support throughout the entire journey and to ensure that the doula you want has availability. However, it never hurts to reach out at any point to be connected with additional community resources.

WHAT DOES A DOULA DO DURING LABOR?

During labor, a doula provides continuous support to the pregnant person and their partner. This may include physical comfort measures like massage and positioning, emotional support through encouragement and affirmations, and informational support by explaining procedures so the family can make informed decisions.

HOW LONG WILL ME DOULA STAY WITH ME DURING LABOR?

I will stay with you for as long as the labor takes. We will chat about the best time to do that prior to birth but I will join you at your request and there are no minimum dilation requirements before attendance or maximum numbers of hours of labor support. In the event of an extended labor, I may call in a backup doula so I can rest (And so you can have fresh support!) and you will always meet with my trusted back up doula prior to labor in the event her services are needed.

DO DOULAS ONLY SUPPORT UNMEDICATED OR VAGINAL CHILD BIRTHS?

No, doulas support all types of births, including vaginal childbirth or cesarean sections, medicated or induced births. I am experienced with home births, birth centers, and hospital based births. My role is to support the pregnant person’s choices and preferences, whatever they may be, and provide personalized guidance and non-stop support.

WILL DOULAS REPLACE MY PARTNER OR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER?

Doulas do not replace partners or medical professionals like midwives or obstetricians. Instead, they complement their roles by offering additional support and expertise focused on the pregnant person’s emotional and physical well-being. I like to tell my clients that my job is to help your partner know how to help you by offering gentle direction/guidance as needed or asked for and to do things in addition to your partner so that you feel as supported and loved as possible during your labor and birth.

"As a first time parent, feeling complete trust and confidence in someone to have the ability to truly take a much needed mental break was a lifeline."

Christina G.

"Coming home to a clean kitchen, a rested baby, and a warm, homemade meal made all the difference in the world."

Lisa B.

" I felt so comfortable leaving my little guy with her at night so I could get some sleep and he absolutely loved her."
